The "Pyramid" of Hellenikon is one of the most mysterious ancient sites in Greece and many speculations have been put forward. Actually, it is one of the Hellenistic forts that controlled the arterial roads of that time and which are also known from Lefkakia and Ligourio, but it is much better preserved. It is dated to the end of the 4th century BC. |

The external walls rise with a gradient of 60° up to a height of 3,50 m. Actually, it never was a complete pyramid, but was truncated already in antiquity. |
